Ryback first made his big move to WWE back in the first season of NXT where he was known as Skip Shiffield where he was mentored by former European Champ William Regal . He was a immpressive guy to watch during his time in that program. The first season of that show as truly one of the best filled with many great talents and Ryback was one of the great Stars from that show. Even though his character wasn''t much but his ring work wasn't great, but it was good enough for me. I always enjoy watching power house wrestling. I actually kinda figured Vince would use him well, but his rise in WWE has been rather quick.
I personally liked the way he returned in 2012 just dominating jobbers much like a lot of Powerhouses do when they first get put on Smackdown or Raw. The moment I seen the crowd getting into this guy I knew they might just turn him into a big star. I for one would have liked to see him instead of going straight for the WWE title I would have rather seen him start from the bottom and go for the US or Intercontinental title. It would have been great to see him go up against Cesaro or Wade.
I don;t see him winning the title in the PPV coming up simply because Cena is the golden child of WWE and will probably be holding the title probably longer then Punk held his, but Ryback will be champ one day in the future if he stays out of trouble with certain things. I say he wins the WWE or World title some time within the next 2-3 years.
Now Ryback has worked with Big E before in the FCW development camp in the past but I for one am waiting for them to clash on TV. It will be great to see these two powerhouses go at it, and hopefully it goes better then the Brock vs Goldberg match from Mania XX.
What are your thoughts on Ryback ?
